Goose To Headline Radio City Music Hall In June

Goose, pictured performing at Denver’s Sculpture Park last July, will headline New York’s Radio City Music Hall for the first time this June.

Goose continues to soar higher. The ascendant jam band – and recent Pollstar cover artist – announced Tuesday that it will make its headlining debut at New York’s Radio City Music Hall June 25.

The three-set performance will feature two electric sets and one acoustic set.

The Connecticut group’s play at the vaunted, 6,000-capacity Manhattan theater will come on the heels of a mostly sold-out late winter tour that includes two-night stands at Washington, D.C.’s 9:30 Club and Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl.

“Performing at a historic venue like Radio City Music Hall is a dream come true for all of us! I can’t thank our fans enough for getting us here,” said drummer Ben Atkind in a statement.

Goose’s Radio City show encapsulates its rapid growth, both generally and within the New York market. In January 2020, before the pandemic, Goose played two shows in New York City, at Manhattan’s 600-capacity Bowery Ballroom and Brooklyn’s 600-capacity Music Hall of Williamsburg. In October 2021, the band returned to the Big Apple and sold out Manhattan club Terminal 5 twice over, moving 6,001 tickets and grossing $234,707. (Incidentally, in the interim, the band presented its annual Goosemas event as a livestream from Rockefeller Center, which houses Radio City Music Hall, in December 2020.)

Goose, which staged several successful drive-in shows in early 2021, finished the year strong, anchoring one of three Lockn’ weekends with August’s FRED The Festival in Virginia and selling out two nights at Chicago’s Riviera Theatre to ring in 2022, with 5,089 sold tickets generating $251,322 grossed – the most lucrative box office gross of the band’s young career.

“Goose is the young band with the momentum in the scene,” promoter Peter Shapiro, who booked Goose for Lockn’, told Pollstar last August. “You can sometimes just feel when a band has the momentum and musical skills and charisma and everything that goes into being a band that can have a long-term career in live music.”

Shapiro added, “Goose has had the fastest rise of any band I’ve seen in this jam world since Phish.”

Radio City tickets will first be available via lottery, with a request period beginning Jan. 18 at 12 p.m. ET and ending Jan. 19 at 5 p.m. ET. After winners are notified, a venue presale will take place Jan. 20, and tickets will go onsale to the general public Jan. 28 at 10 a.m. ET.
