Sharon Van Etten, Angel Olsen, Julien Baker Unveil Co-Headlining ‘Wild Hearts Tour’

Indie-rockers Sharon Van Etten, Angel Olsen and Julien Baker announced a co-headlining summer tour Monday.

“The Wild Hearts Tour” will find Van Etten, Olsen and Baker playing theaters and amphitheaters in July and August. The run begins at Wolf Trap Center for the Performing Arts in Vienna, Va., on July 21, and will make three other Southern stops, including at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on July 23, before heading to the West Coast for a string of dates that begins at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre on July 29.

As the tour works its way back east, it’ll make stops including Denver (Sculpture Park, Aug. 7), Toronto (Massey Hall, Aug. 12) and Boston (Leader Bank Pavilion, Aug. 18) before concluding at New York’s Central Park Summerstage on Aug. 21.

Spencer. will support all “Wild Hearts Tour” dates excluding its plays at the Ryman and Massey Hall.

“I look up to Angel and have the deepest admiration for Julien and Spencer.,” Van Etten said in a statement. “It is an honor, to say the least, to be able to share the stage with such talent on a tour across North America.”

I know for fans it’s something different and special too, and for me, it’s sort of like a caravan summer camp-a chance to get to know other artists in a deeper way and talk about music and life and how it affects us all as we move forward. Most of all, I am excited to sing live again, in an open and real way, both alone and together with my tourmates.”

“Sharon and Angel are artists that I have genuinely admired for many years and whose music has honestly informed much of my own writing and music making, and I’m thrilled to be sharing a stage with them every night,” Baker concurred in a statement.

One dollar from every ticket on the tour will be directed to support people rebuilding their lives after incarceration.

Van Etten appeared on Pollstar‘s cover in May 2019. Earlier that year, Pollstar reviewed the indie-rocker’s performance at New York’s Beacon Theatre, noting that “Van Etten’s final artistic form may still lay ahead, but her current evolutionary stage is thrilling all the same.”

That sold-out show grossed $103,496 from 2,776 tickets, Van Etten’s highest-grossing U.S. headlining appearance to date.

In 2021, Van Etten released the single “Like I Used To” with Olsen, and made a guest appearance during the former’s top-billed appearance at Chicago’s Pitchfork Music Festival in September.

Olsen, who released her acclaimed album, All Mirrors, in 2019, and a companion album, Whole New Mess, in 2020, ended 2019 on a high note, recording her strongest box office showing to date by way of a sold-out show at the Fox Theater in Oakland, Calif., that grossed $100,980 on Dec. 7, 2019.

Baker, meanwhile, released her new album, Little Oblivions, in early 2021, and toured behind it. Baker’s Beacon Theatre appearance on Sept. 14, 2021, stands as the highest-grossing of her career, with a take of $110,978 from 2,513 sold tickets.
