According to documents obtained by Billboard, Glastonbury Festival recorded losses of £3.1 million ($4.2 million) in 2021, after being forced to cancel its 50th anniversary edition for a second year running. The event’s annual turnover reportedly dropped from £45 million ($61 million) to £950,000 ($1.3 million).

With no Glastonbury Festival taking place for a second year running, promoters Michael and Emily Eavis decided to turn Worthy Farm into a giant campground over the 2021 school holidays. While there will be no live music offered by the organizers of Worthy Pastures, a lot of things will remind campers of Glastonbury Festival, including the familiar style of signage, painted bins and décor.
The festival’s organizers also announced its first ticketed online livestream event, “Live from Worthy Farm” in May this year.
The Glastonbury team banks on a triumphant return of the main event in 2022, having already announced Billie Eilish as its youngest solo headliner in history, as well as the legend to take this year’s Legend’s Slot: Diana Ross.
