Thom Yorke-fronted Supergroup The Smile Announces Livestreamed Launch Concerts For Debut Album

The Smile, comprising Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood and Sons Of Kemet’s Tom Skinner, just released its debut single ‘You Will Never Work In Television Again’, followed by the announcement of three launch concerts at the end of January.

The concerts will take place in front of a live audience at the new Magazine venue, located in the heart of London’s Docklands and offering space for 1,000 seated.
The Smile will perform three concerts within 15 hours, Jan. 29-30, each performance will be livestreamed into a different time zone. Allowing people outside of the UK to view the livestream at sensible times required the band “playing at non-sensible times,” as Jonny Greenwood informed fans in a mail out. He revealed that stage designer Andi Watson would design a special venue inside the main space, the Magazine. Paul Dugdale, who also filmed The Smile’s Glastonbury set during the Live At Worthy Farm streaming event, will be directing the show, which will bring together “a live show, a livestream and a cinematic film,” according to the press announcement. 
The livestream is produced by Driift. Both the online events as well as the physical show are ticketed. Tickets for the livestream are here, for the London in-person event head here.
