As its headliners indicate, Forecastle will feature a mix of indie-rock, electronic and hip-hop music. Other highlights on the bill include Porter Robinson, Phoebe Bridgers, Rüfüs Du Sol, Clairo, Earl Sweatshirt, Lane 8, 100 gecs, Black Pumas and Alison Wonderland.

According to a press release, “the 2022 festival will bring not only new timing” – historically, the festival has taken place in mid-July – “but a reimagined fan experience. The Mast Stage will continue to offer sweeping views of the Ohio River, cast against the Louisville skyline. Now located on the Wharf, the Ocean Stage will be fully tented, creating an immersive musical experience.”

Forecastle was slated to take place July 17-19, 2020, led by Jack Johnson, Cage The Elephant and The 1975, before it was forced to cancel due to the pandemic. Notably, 2022 headliner Jack Harlow, a Louisville native, was billed on the 2020 poster’s second line.

In 2019, The Killers, The Avett Brothers and Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals headlined the event. Forecastle celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2017; topped by LCD Soundsystem, Weezer and Odesza, that year’s event grossed $2.99 million.

All three 2022 headliners already have announced other festival appearances for this year. Tame Impala will headline Arizona’s Innings, Florida’s Okeechobee, New Orleans’ BUKU and Alabama’s Hangout, while Tyler, the Creator will top the bill at BUKU. Harlow, meanwhile, will perform at Hangout, albeit not as a headliner.

For Tyler, the Creator and Tame Impala, upcoming 2022 festival appearances complement extensive spring arena tours.

Tickets for Forecastle festival go on sale to the general public on January 6 at 12 p.m. ET.
