Live Nation Urban has named Mari Arionne Davies its new vice president of booking and talent, reporting to Live Nation Urban President Shawn Gee.
“We are beyond excited to bring Mari over to head up our Festival Booking and Touring activities,” Gee said in the announcement. “She is a rising star in the business, and we are fortunate to have her on the Live Nation Urban team”
In the newly created role, Davies will handle booking artists for Live Nation Urban festival properties and touring brands. She will oversee the department and actively seek out partners to introduce a new generation of tours, festivals, and activations, according to the announcement.
Davies was most recently an agent at ICM Partners.
Based in Los Angeles and with a background rooted in social justice, Davies will also identify avenues to support underserved voices in the business and uplift and uphold the greater global community as well, the announcement states.
Ms. Davies added, “It’s truly a thrill to be joining the dynamic team at Live Nation Urban. LNU has shown tremendous growth and proven to be the premier source for live urban music. I look forward to working along with the team to further impact the company and the culture and to continue working with the brightest stars of hip hop, R&B and gospel as live events return to stages around the world.”
As an agent, Davies has worked with and developed artists including A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Cordae, Kiana Ledé, and Jacquees , with her varied roster including the likes of Kelly Rowland to NBA star Matt Barnes to comedian and actor Hannibal Burress. She also signed artists including G Herbo, Yung Bleu, EST Gee, Fivio Foreign, Arin Ray, and Nigerian superstar Davido, according to the statement.
As a devout champion for social justice. Ms. Davies supports The Show Must Be Paused whose mission focuses on leveling the playing field for Black entertainment executives and talent, and was a founding member of Diversify ICM, at her prior company, the agency’s BIPOC initiative, and a mentor and founding member of Next Gen Femme in conjunction with Femme It Forward.
Davies also volunteers regularly with Union Rescue Mission, A Place Called Home, LA Mission, and The Downtown Women’s Center.
