George Strait & Dead & Company Make Debut On LIVE75 Chart

George Strait plays the Country Rising Benefit Concert at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
Debuting at No. 1 on Pollstar‘s LIVE75 chart as the HOT SHOT artist of the week is Dead & Company with a ticket average of 21,934 from the first 11 concerts on the supergroup’s 2021 tour. Launching on Aug. 16 in Raleigh, N.C., the tour grossed over $21.3 million at the first 10 venues, including Xfinity Center in Boston that hosted the band for two nights. Shows in Major League Baseball stadiums contribute to the higher ticket average with 36,642 tickets sold at New York’s Citi Field on Aug. 20 and 31,328 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia the following night.
Also making his debut appearance is “King of Country” George Strait, the chart’s HEAVY HITTER with a gross average of $2.28 million, the highest of the week. With a boxoffice take of $4.6 million from concerts on Aug. 13-14 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the concerts marked the first in his “Strait to Vegas” series since February 2020. Caitlyn Smith opened the shows which drew a total of 28,392 fans.
Repeating at No. 2 after debuting there last week is the Zac Brown Band with the first six concerts from their “Comeback” tour, set primarily in U.S. amphitheaters. Averaging 19,723 sold tickets per show, the group grossed just under $9 million from the six performances for a gross average of $1.49 million.
