Dead & Company announced the addition Wednesday of two October shows at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre to its late summer and fall tour, which began in August and will extend through Halloween.

The band, comprised of Grateful Dead founding members Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart, along with John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti, will play the beloved venue on Oct. 19-20, just before a sold-out, two-night stand at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in neighboring Englewood, Colo., on Oct. 22-23.

In its month back on the road, Dead & Company has quickly established itself as one of the year’s strongest touring acts. Box office highlights so far have included a sold-out night at New York’s Citi Field that sold 36,642 and grossed $4.12 million, and two nights at Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Mass., which sold 35,451 tickets and grossed $3.33 million. Through its first 11 performances, the band sold 241,277 tickets and grossed $21.3 million.

The October shows will mark Dead & Company’s first shows at Red Rocks, despite the venue’s esteemed place in the Grateful Dead’s legacy. In 2015, Dead & Company played two shows at 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, Colo., and the band’s eight Colorado plays from 2016 to 2019 all took place at Folsom Field in Boulder.

However, two Dead & Company members have already played Red Rocks in 2021. Bob Weir and Wolf Bros headlined the venue June 8-9, while Billy & The Kids, Kreutzmann’s supergroup featuring Billy Strings and members of Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Trey Anastasio Band and The Disco Biscuits, performed a two-night stand there July 12-13. Both Billy & The Kids shows sold out, selling 18,583 tickets for a total gross of $1.13 million.

Remaining announced stops on Dead & Company’s 2021 tour include Chicago’s Wrigley Field (Sept. 17-18), Atlanta’s Cellairis Amphitheatre at Lakewood (Oct. 12) and Phoenix’s Ak-Chin Pavilion (Oct. 25). The tour concludes with three nights at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl (Oct. 29-31). The band also has two weekends of its Mexican destination festival Playing In The Sand booked for January 2022, and both have already sold out.

In 2019, Dead & Company enjoyed the most lucrative year on the road since its formation in 2015, grossing $68.6 million and securing a No. 27 ranking on Pollstar‘s Top 100 Worldwide Tours chart.

Presale registration for Dead & Company’s Red Rocks shows is open until Sept. 17 at 12 p.m. MT, and tickets go onsale to the public on Sept. 24 at 12 p.m. MT.
