Phoebe Bridgers is going to take it outside. With rising COVID cases across the country, the indie rocker announced Monday that she’s moving indoor shows on her fall “Reunion Tour” to outdoor venues and updated the tour’s health and safety requirements.

While some artists and venues have recently announced that attendees must either show proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test, Bridgers is solely requiring proof of vaccination except in states that ban such requirements.
“Let’s try this again… In the interest of safety, I’ve decided to only play outdoors for the upcoming tour. We are moving all previously scheduled indoor shows to outdoor venues and we’ve needed to postpone shows in a couple cities so please check the updated schedule,” Bridgers tweeted Aug. 23
“At my request, there are updated health and safety requirements.  Entry will require proof of vaccination against COVID-19. Where that’s not permissible by law, we’ll agree to proof of vaccination OR proof of negative test result (PCR preferred/Antigen accepted) within 48 hours prior to entering those venues. And please wear a mask. I love you. See you soon.”
Gigs in St. Louis; Indianapolis; Madison, Wis.; Pittsburgh; Charlotte, N.C.; and Raleigh, N.C. have been moved to outdoor venues, with some dates shifting around.
Bridgers’ stops in New Orleans and Washington, D.C., are no longer on her schedule. She was also supposed to play two nights in St. Paul, Minn., Sept. 11-12 and is instead now playing Minneapolis with a Sept. 11 gig at Surly Brewing Festival Field.
The “Reunion Tour” marks Bridgers’ first chance to play tunes in person from her second studio album, Punisher, which was released in June 2020 via Dead Oceans. The album earned Bridgers four Grammy nominations including Best New Artist, Best Alternative Music Album, Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song, with the latter two for the tune “Kyoto.”
$1 of every ticket sold will be donated to RAINN, the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization.

Reports submitted to Pollstar‘s Boxoffice for Bridgers include a Nov. 17, 2018, co-bill with Julien Baker, with support from Lucy Dacus, that sold 1,550 tickets and grossed $32,550.
The Pixies announced in a statement today that it is canceling its 11-date September run that included appearances at Summerfest in Milwaukee and Chicago’s Riot Fest. The band said it had “determined that with the current surge in COVID cases made worse by the Delta variant, this is the right decision for their fans, crew members and themselves, and ask that their fans stay safe and healthy.”

Widespread Panic also broke the news that it was postponing its New York City shows at the Beacon Theatre from Sept. 16-20 to Jan. 13-17, 2022 and its Napa, Calif., shows at the Oxbow RiverStage from Aug. 27-29, 2021 to Aug. 26-28, 2022 because of the spread of the Delta variant. Earlier this month Widespread Panic singer/guitarist John Bell announced he had tested positive for COVID.

Other artists who have recently switched up their tour schedules because of COVID include Florida Georgia Line, BTS, Neil Young, Nine Inch Nails, Korn and The String Cheese Incident.
