Burna Boy and Wizkid will top the inaugural Lost In Riddim festival in Sacramento, Calif., this October.
Sacramento will welcome a new Afrobeat festival this fall.
Lost In Riddim will debut Oct. 2-3 with a lineup topped by Burna Boy and Wizkid. Other artists booked for the event, which will take place in the California capital’s Cesar Chavez Park, include Mr Eazi, Koffee, Rotimi, Rema, Fireboy DML, Tems, Amaarae, Oxlade, Ladipoe, Projexx, Shenseea, Joeboy, Sho Madjozi, Enisa, WSTRN and Johnny Drille.
The event is being produced by the same team behind Sacramento’s R&B-oriented Sol Blume festival, which featured Miguel, Jessie Reyez, Tierra Whack and more in 2019.
Passes go on sale July 16 at 10 a.m. PST.
“We created this event to not only showcase some of the most popular international music artists in the entire world, many of whom continued to be overlooked by major U.S. music festivals, but also create a unique celebration about the beauty of African culture,” co-founders Fornati Kumeh and Jehu “Manny” Hunter said in a joint statement.
“The team can’t wait to soon debut a completely unique festival-going experience in Sacramento this fall. Throwing Lost In Riddim in Sacramento was also a no-brainer because not only is this our hometown, but our other festival Sol Blume has ultimately helped to lay the groundwork for us to expand locally and launch a second concept this fall.”
This fall, Burna Boy is booked for high-profile slots at New York’s Governors Ball and San Francisco’s Outside Lands, and the Nigerian star will headline the Hollywood Bowl on Oct. 8.
Meanwhile, Wizkid announced a tour earlier this month that will run from Sept. 10 to Oct. 16 and include headlining stops at Chicago’s Riviera Theatre (Sept. 18), Los Angeles’ Wiltern (Sept. 25), and Atlanta’s Tabernacle (Oct. 12).
