Brooklyn Made Reveals New 500-Capacity Bushwick Club

Brooklyn Made will open a new venue with the same name in Bushwick, Brooklyn, this fall.

Come fall, Brooklyn’s Bushwick neighborhood will add another music venue to its burgeoning cultural scene.

Brooklyn Made, the independent concert promotion company launched in July 2020 by Bowery Presents and Live Nation New York expat Anthony Makes, announced a new 500-capacity club – significantly, also named Brooklyn Made – on Troutman Street, just off of the Jefferson stop on the city’s L subway line.

Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy will open the club with two shows on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, and he’ll be followed with performances by Greg Dulli (Oct. 2) and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue (Oct. 4 and Oct. 5).

Other shows announced for Brooklyn Made, which currently has a packed October and November calendar and a smattering of dates on the books for the subsequent months, include Steve Earle (Oct. 16), Nathaniel Rateliff solo and acoustic (Oct. 17), Surfer Blood (Nov. 12) and multi-night runs by Band of Horses (Oct. 18-20) and Whitney (Nov. 3-4).

“This venue is truly the headquarters for Brooklyn Made Presents,” said Makes in a press release. “Myself and my partner Kelly Winrich wanted to create the most amazing club and I know we’ve accomplished this with Brooklyn Made. The bells and whistles with this place are so far ahead of anything we’ve ever seen and we know – every single artist and fan that comes here – is going to be blown away by the experience.”

Instrumental in the venue’s acquisition was Delta Spirit’s Kelly Winrich, who has now joined Brooklyn Made Presents as a partner.

“Having played venues and festivals of all sizes across the world, there are a handful that really stick out,” said Winrich in a statement. “Our aim is to make sure all artists that come through our rooms have an unforgettable experience. From hospitality, to sound, to lights – we want it all to be next level.”

Brooklyn Made enters the dense North Brooklyn live market – which includes Bushwick clubs such as Elsewhere and Market Hotel and venues in neighboring Williamsburg such as Music Hall of Williamsburg and Baby’s All Right – with plenty of aspects that set it apart.

For one, its 500-cap size is unique in Bushwick, filled with tiny electronic clubs and larger venues like the EDM compound Avant Gardner, as is its rock-oriented booking strategy.

Brooklyn Made will feature high-end sound by D&B Audiotechnik, including Soundscape 3D object-mixing.

Visiting artists will have a top-flight experience, with access to a second-story carriage house, private outdoor swimming pool and multiple decks.

Moreover, a bar named Connie’s will be attached to Brooklyn Made, offering fans a watering hole for before and after shows. Just next door will be Standing Room, another new establishment that will operate as a cafe by morning and a cocktail, wine and tapas bar by evening.

Tickets for Brooklyn Made’s initial slate of shows go on sale on June 11. That, too, has a noteworthy aspect, as Brooklyn Made’s exclusive ticketing partner will be DICE, which the promoter entered into an exclusive multi-year partnership in February.
