Yo La Tengo, Parquet Courts Top Lineup For New York’s Woodsist Festival

Yo La Tengo and Parquet Courts top the bill for 2021’s Woodsist Festival.

Woodsist Festival, the long-running event by indie label Woodsist, announced its return Thursday.

Yo La Tengo and Parquet Courts will headline the festival, which will take place on Sept. 25-26 for a second time at Arrowood Farm Brewery in the Catskills town of Accord, N.Y., after spending several years in California’s Big Sur.

Other performers booked for Woodsist Fest’s two stages include Kevin Morby, Kurt Vile, Steve Gunn, Bridget St. John, 75 Dollar Bill, National Information Society, Cassandra Jenkins, Laraaji, Anna St. Louis, John Andrews + The Yawns, Sessa and, naturally, Woods, the indie-rock band fronted by Jeremy Earl, who founded Woodsist in 2006.

“Last year, as the pandemic slowed things in our world to a crawl, we increasingly found our listening habits drifting towards slower, more contemplative, more intentional selections,” the festival wrote in a press release. “It’s with that spirit in mind that we are happy to present new friends like the 75 Dollar Bill Big Band, Joshua Abrams’ Natural Information Society and the incomparable Laraaji.”

The event is presented by Woodsist, Ground Control Touring and Impact Concerts. Tent and RV camping will be available at the Rondout Valley Campground one mile from the festival site, and the event will feature Hudson Valley-based food vendors.

In 2019, the most recent year Woodsist Fest was held, the bill featured Whitney, Real Estate, Woods, Kevin Morby, Waxahatchee and Hand Habits.
