Chris Stapleton Details Tour Dates For Second Half of 2021, April and June 2022

Chris Stapleton announced the return of his “All-American Road Show” on Monday, kicking off at Chicago’s Wrigley Field on July 17, 2021.

In four months, Chris Stapleton will return to the road.

While the country troubadour – whose 2020 album Starting Over won Album of the Year at the ACM Awards on Sunday – was originally slated to take his “All-American Road Show” on the road in spring and summer 2020, the dates were pushed to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Just last week, Stapleton pushed spring 2021 dates to fall 2021 and June 2022.

But like other musicians, Stapleton seems more optimistic about late summer and early fall. The musician confirmed Monday that several postponed stadium and amphitheater plays will take place in July and August, and he also added a slew of new dates in July, August and September.

Stapleton’s tour now begins with a postponed date at Chicago’s Wrigley Field on July 17, before heading to Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford, N.H., for three shows July 28-30. The first two Gilford shows were postponed, while the third is a new date.

Other postponed dates now confirmed as taking place include plays at Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio (Aug. 5), PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, N.C. (Aug. 12), and Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas (Aug. 21).

Newly announced additions include two nights at DTE Energy Music Theater in Clarkston, Mich. (Aug. 6-7), and plays at Atlanta’s Cellairis Bank Amphitheatre (Aug. 28), Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, N.Y. (Sept. 23) and Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater in Virginia Beach, Va. (Sept. 30).

Stapleton’s October, November and December dates are a patchwork of shows postponed from 2020, shows postponed last week from early 2021 and new dates. Highlights include New York’s Madison Square Garden (Oct. 8), Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena (Oct. 22-23) and Memphis’ FedEx Forum (Dec. 3).

In June 2022, Stapleton will make stops at the Gorge Amphitheater in George, Wash. (June 4) and Denver’s Ball Arena (June 24-25), among others.

Encouragingly, Stapleton will still be joined by many of the support acts who were initially planned for his 2020 tour, including Margo Price, Sheryl Crow, Dwight Yoakam, Elle King, Yola and The Marcus King Band.

At the Wrigley Field tour opener, he’ll be joined by The Highwomen, Mavis Staples and The Dirty Knobs with Mike Campbell.

Tickets for Stapleton’s newly announced gigs go on sale on April 30, May 7 or June 11, depending on the date of the show. Live Nation is the tour’s official promoter.

In the three years prior to the pandemic, Stapleton’s live sales were consistently strong, averaging $33.9 million annually. He landed at No. 53 on Pollstar‘s Top 100 Worldwide Tours chart in both 2017 and 2018, while in 2019 he ranked No. 61. Stapeton’s top-grossing event according to Pollstar data is his show at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, Ill., on October 6, 2018, where he was supported by Brent Cobb and Marty Stuart and sold 25,458 tickets and grossed $1.46 million. Other highlights include a two-night 2017 stand at Bridgestone Arena that grossed $1.44 million and a show at Virginia’s Jiffy Lube Live that sold 21,089 tickets and grossed $1.41 million.

Stapleton is the latest marquee country artist to confirm dates for late summer and early fall, joining recent announcements by Eric Church and Thomas Rhett.
