Former Live Nation New Orleans President Russell Doussan Opens DMG Presents
l – DMG Presents
Longtime concert promoter Russell Doussan has launched Doussan Music Group in the New Orleans suburb of Mandeville, La., and has begun booking concerts for late summer and fall, where markets and states allow.
DMG Presents marks Doussan’s second turn as an independent concert promoter, having built and sold Blue Deuce Entertainment in 2014 to Live Nation, where he stayed on as president of its New Orleans regional office.
Doussan took advantage of the downtime caused by the yearlong shutdown of the concert industry to build the new company, and expects to open additional offices as touring comes back online.
DMG says it is fully financed and able to operate national tours as well as booking local artists in primarily indoor venues and boutique amphitheatres in mostly Southern states. According to a statement, the company is fully staffed with industry veterans in booking, marketing, ticketing, production, accounting and VIP sales.
“Introducing each artist to their fans through the LIVE music experience is a passion of mine,” Doussan stated. “As the artist hits the stage, feeling the energy in the room and hearing the venue come alive, is what drives me. Music is the soundtrack of our lives!”
Doussan entered the concert business by working for an independent promoter based in New Orleans from 2000-03, then owned Blue Deuce Entertainment from 2003-14, where he produced more than 1,600 concerts in 43 states over 11 years. Live Nation acquired his company in 2014, establishing its regional office in New Orleans and keeping Doussan on as president until 2020.
