Kenny Chesney Postpones Tour To 2022
Country megastar Kenny Chesney has announced a delay in his touring plans, pushing all dates to 2022.
These stadium dates now being moved back are a further postponement of dates originally scheduled for 2020, though the shows in 2020 will feature a new name, lineup and setlist. All tickets held for 2020 or 2021 dates will be honored on the new rescheduled dates and refunds can be requested at original point of purchase.
The main reason given for the delay was uncertainty about the practicality of full-capacity touring this year.
“We have waited for so long, I can’t play knowing I would disappoint a portion of No Shoes Nation who wouldn’t be able to get into the stadiums and the amphitheaters,” Chesney said in a statement. “There’s no way around that this year. As much I hate postponing further, I would hate telling people who waited we won’t be able to let them come due to capacity restrictions. That’s just not fair.”
Messina Touring Group is promoting the tour and is expected to release a new routing soon.
Kenny Chesney is a touring powerhouse, having graced the cover of Pollstar with a special feature in 2018. He has been a record setter in numerous markets, including Boston, where he grossed $11,631,679 on 121,714 tickets.
