San Francisco’s Outside Lands has shifted its 2021 dates to Oct. 29-31 and modified the lineup, adding Glass Animals, Kaytranada, Lord Huron, 24kGoldn and many more.
Organizers said the festival is being moved from Aug. 6-8 for public safety.

“The health and safety of the Outside Lands and San Francisco communities remains our top priority. We are working closely with local and state officials to create the safest festival experience possible,” organizers said in a statement. “As guidance on openings of public gatherings is shifting rapidly, the move to October allows us the time to work collectively to determine any new safety procedures necessary to implement during the festival. In the meanwhile please do what you can to help us with this effort by continuing to wear your masks and getting your vaccine when it’s your turn!”

The lineup is still topped by Tame Impala, Lizzo, The Strokes, Tyler, The Creator, Vampire Weekend, J Balvin, Kehlani and Young Thug. Tickets to the event, which will still stage in Golden Gate Park, are on sale now.

No information was given about what capacity the festival will operate at, though it will not be the first major festival to stage in-person in North America. At press time Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas is still scheduled to take place May 21-23 in Las Vegas and Life Is Beautiful, also in Las Vegas, also put new tickets on sale for Sept. 16-19, and quickly sold out.

Outside Lines has also partnered with United Airlines to invest in carbon capture and sequestration technology, removing carbon from the atmosphere and burying it underground.

Outside Lands posted its highest-ever Boxoffice totals for its 2019 edition, earning $29.6 million on 205,500 tickets sold. That event featured Anderson .Paak, Blink-182, Childish Gambino, Paul Simon, The Lumineers, Twenty One Pilots, Beck and many others.
