Los Lobos announced a holiday livestream from Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, Calif.

Los Lobos announced another livestream from Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, Calif., on Monday.

Titled “Still Home For The Holidays,” the festive concert will feature the beloved band playing selections from Llegó Navidad, the well-received holiday album it released in 2019.

Tickets for the concert, which airs Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. PT, begin at $20. The band is also offering show-specific shirts and posters, and a $150 VIP experience that includes a 45-minute Zoom chat and exclusive live performance with Los Lobos ahead of the show proper.

The gig is Los Lobos’ second livestreamed event from the Belly Up Tavern this year, following an Aug. 30 concert at the venue.

Shuttered like most venues due to health restrictions, the San Diego-area Belly Up pivoted to alternative models early in the pandemic, selling archival sets by a vast range of acts recorded at the venue.

“What we do is too important to our communities and we need to do whatever we can to find a way to the other side,” Chris Goldsmith, president of Belly Up Entertainment, told Pollstar affiliate publication VenuesNow in May. “That might include streaming, it might include turning the house, it might include live recordings, but mostly it’s going to involve the same passion and creativity that got us into the music business in the first place.”

A month before Los Lobos’ first Belly Up gig, it performed a livestreamed set from San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, in affiliation with Hardly Strictly Bluegrass on July 25.

The band has also experimented with drive-in concerts in 2020, including shows in Commerce, Calif., outside of Los Angeles, and at Solano County Fairgrounds in Vallejo, Calif., outside of the Bay Area.

Before the pandemic, Los Lobos had found a recent niche playing small venues – particularly City Winery locations across the country – where it would often sell out multiple nights. Among the most lucrative was a sold-out, four-show stand at City Winery Chicago, where Los Lobos moved 1,200 tickets and grossed $85,824.

The band’s most recent box office report is a Feb. 22 show at Toronto’s Koerner Hall where Los Lobos sold $46,886.
