Two New Fests For Croatia
Croatia doesn’t have much of a reputation for staging festivals that last, but the lure of its Adriatic coast has attracted two new start-ups to be staged this summer.
Boris Kovacek is launching Terraneo Festival (August 7-9) on an old military base near the picturesque town of Šibenik, while further south at Rovinj the creators of Hideout Festival, The Warehouse Project and Field Day will stage Unknown Festival (Sept. 10-14).
The market may be getting a little crowded as the country also has INmusic in Zagreb (June 24-26), Hideout Festival (July 3-5), Tisno’s Garden Festival (July 3-10) and Electric Elephant (11-15), Ultra Europe (July 12-13), Soundwave (July 19-23), Outlook (Aug. 29 to Sept. 2), Dimensions (Sept. 5-9) and Burning Sea (Sept. 5-8).
The Terraneo lineup has My Bloody Valentine, Azealia Banks, Calexico, The Bots, Postolar, Tripper, Kawasaki 3P, and Icarus Dawn, while Unknown has Django Django, Richie Hawtin, The Horrors, Factory Floor, Lulu James, Tiga, and Nina Kraviz.
