“I asked at the desk what was happening and I was told it was Justin Bieber’s production and the O2 couldn’t do anything about it,” one mother of two told BBC 5.
Bieber eventually hit the stage at around 10:30 p.m., meaning people who needed to catch a train home would likely have to leave before the show finished.
Later the 19-year old superstar told his 35 million or so Twitter followers that he never intended to upset anyone kept waiting.
He also said he’d got up at 12:30 p.m. to “a crazy day,” which rankled parents who rang the next morning’s radio talk shows to explain how the Monday night show was followed by a school day and that they had to get their kids up early.
Bieber also promised that the following night’s O2 show would start on time.
