‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ Return

Aerosmith returns after 24 years for McManus Entertainment.  The first show, at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium (April 28), will see the band joined by WolfmotherGrinspoonSpiderbait, The Dead Daisies, Kingswood and Diva Demolition.

The Dead Daisies also join Aerosmith for shows at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre (May 1) and Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena (May 4).

The Dead Daisies consist of former INXS singer Jon Stevens, Guns N’ Roses guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Charley Drayton and bassist Jim Hilbun of The Divinyls and guitarist David Lowy from The Angels.

Kraftwerk will play eight separate shows May 24-27 as part of Vivid LIVE at the Sydney Opera House.  The band will recreate its eight albums, from 1974’s Autobahn in the first show, through to 2003’s Tour de France at the last. The performances feature 3D graphics and 3D sound.

The Really Useful Group and Frontier Touring teamed up for a new arena production of “Jesus Christ Superstar.”

It features Australians Tim Minchin as Judas Iscariot, former INXS singer Jon Stevens as Pontius Pilate and newcomer Ben Forster in the lead role, while former Spice Girl Melanie C plays Mary Magdalene.

It plays nine shows in five cities May 31 to June 15.

Simone Felice returns for Love Police for a six-date club run March 28 to April 6, with award-winning Aussie Jess Ribeiro opening.
