Cowboy Town Back

The Cowboy Town entertainment facility in Alexandria, La., shuttered in 2001 after just a few months in operation, has a new owner and new purpose.

The complex that includes a 4,000-seat venue has been purchased by Sundrop Fuels as the potential site for a biodiesel plant.

The 28-acre property was reportedly considered as a replacement for the city’s aging Rapides Parish Coliseum, but parish voters approved a bond measure Nov. 6 to provide $23 million to renovate the 50-year-old building.
