Bamboozled

Organizers for Bamboozle Music Festival have some bad news for fans. Not only will the festival not be returning to Asbury Park, N.J., in 2013 – but the event won’t be held at all next year. There’s still hope the festival will be back in 2014.

The following announcement was posted on the festival’s Twitter page and Facebook page late Wednesday:

“Happy holidaze Boozlers! We are sad to announce we will miss all of you in 2013 but keep your eyes peeled for 2014 info. Have a warm and safe holiday season!”

In October the Asbury Park Press reported that the festival didn’t make a profit from its 2012 event and would not be returning to Asbury Park in 2013.

A Live Nation representative was quoted in the newspaper saying that the company hadn’t “made final plans for Bamboozle ’13, but (we) will let everyone know as soon as they’re finalized.”

The Asbury Park Press also reported that promoter John D’Esposito, who created the festival in 2003, was “no longer a managing partner” in Bamboozle.

The 2012 festival marked a return to Asbury Park for its 10 year anniversary after previously being held for many years in East Rutherford, N.J. The lineup featured IncubusSkrillexFoo FightersBon JoviMac MillerMike PosnerMy Chemical RomanceJimmy Eat World and more.

Additional editions of Bamboozle have been held in California and Chicago.
