Storms Cancel Concerts
Severe weather caused concert cancellations all along the East Coast over the Memorial Day weekend.
In St. Augustine, Fla., the
Further north in Jacksonville, Fla., organizers of the annual Jacksonville Jazz Festival canceled outdoor performances May 27. A spokesman for the 5,000-capacity Jacksonville Landing told the local Florida Times-Union the club would present other performances that day.
And in Washington, D.C., the National Memorial Day concert was cut short over a series of thunderstorms that moved into the District of Columbia May 27. Actor and host Gary Sinise reportedly told the audience there had been a severe weather warning and advised people to seek shelter.
