Top Fights At Marina Bay Sands

Singapore’s new Marina Bay Sands Resort Theater was the setting for two world boxing championship fights May 5, giving the venue an enviable reputation as a new site for world-class sporting events.

All 4,000 tickets sold out almost immediately, proving that the region can handle the kind of marquee fights normally reserved for Las Vegas.

In fact, the success of the two fights was credited to the Marina Bay Sands new chief, Mark Juliano, an American who in the past promoted major sports events in Las Vegas.

Juliano’s success will lead to more opportunities for high-profile sporting events in Singapore, which is three hours or less by plane from Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand, Australia, Indonesia, China, Malaysia and the Philippines.
