MSG And Time Warner End Dispute

‘Linsanity’ continues to have its affect on the business climate of MSG: Time Warner Cable and MSG Networks have reportedly settled their battle that kept the New York Knicks and Rangers off Time Warner channels.

The truce was predicted by Bloomberg News, that said the historic play of the Knicks’ Jeremy Lin, and the subsequent soaring television ratings, could bring an end to the contention.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is expected to announce a resolution to the dispute later today, according to the New York Times. New Yorkers have been upset that they can’t watch their new sports hero on the city’s largest cable provider, and New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has urged interested parties to negotiate.

Meetings were recently held between Cuomo, MSG’s James Dolan and Time Warner Cable CEO Glenn Britt.

Lin, who came off the bench a handful of games ago, has lit up the scoreboard with figures that haven’t been seen in decades. One of the records is the most in turnovers, but nobody has been complaining considering his heroic play has made the sports world (literally) focused on Madison Square Garden.
