Green Suit Shot Down

A lawsuit against the U.S. Green Building Council, which issues LEED certifications to “green,” was dismissed with prejudice in U.S. District Court in New York.

The USGBC was sued by a group for false advertising claims, according to a USGBC statement.

More than 40,000 projects apparently are involved with the LEED green building certification, which is awarded to venues for environmentally efficient design, construction and operation.

The court held that none of the plaintiffs in the action had alleged or could allege any legal interest to be protected by their lawsuit.
