Music Week Needs More Surgery
UK weekly business-to-business magazine Music Week will need a little more “surgery” if it’s to continue, according to its new owners.
“Without us acquiring Music Week, it would have been closed,” read a statement from business media specialist Intent Media.
Intent purchased the title as part of a £2.4 million bundle that included Television Business Europe, Pro Sound News Europe and Installation Europe, plus additional websites, newsletters, conferences, show dailies and awards events.
Last year the portfolio generated £5.4 million of revenue for former owner UBM Connect.
Unlike previous owners, Intent is a small, independent, specialist business.
It says it wants to develop Music Week where it can, via print, digital, online, mobile and events.
