Disappointing Numbers At Sonnenrot

Sonnenrot may have an excellent site beside a lake and barely 20 minutes out of Munich, but promoter Dieter Boes was disappointed to get only 6,500 per day to the shores of Lake Eching in Germany.

It’s the third year the event has taken place among the beaches and beer gardens, but Boes is being patient with it and hopes to get nearer to the 15,000 capacity in 2012.

Excellent weather and great feedback from artists and the audience produced a memorable festival, so Sonnenrot will at least get a good word from those who did attend.

The acts trying to help grow Sonnenrot July 15-16 included Cypress Hill, The Ting Tings, Kettcar, Triggerfinger, The Young Gods, and The Blue Van.
