Walsh Denies Indecent Assault
“X Factor” judge Louis Walsh is strenuously denying allegations that he indecently assaulted a young man in a nightclub bathroom.
The 58-year-old music impresario, who created Boyzone and has managed acts including Ronan Keating, Westlife, Jedward, Shayne Ward, and Girls Aloud, was expected to be interviewed by Irish police June 24.
The allegations were made by a 24-year-old Dublin man, who told the local Gardai police he had been touched inappropriately by Walsh during an early morning incident.
A spokeswoman told the Belfast Telegraph that Walsh would willingly cooperate with any investigation. He claims the allegations are false and said he was confident he would be exonerated.
Walsh was away on business when the allegations were made. Police were expected to contact him as soon as he returned to Dublin.
The incident is alleged to have taken place in a toilet in the Krystle nightclub in the Russell Court Hotel in the city centre at 3 a.m. April 10.
The man who made the allegations claims was in toilet stall when the alleged incident took place. The two men had been talking earlier in a bar in the hotel before Walsh went to Krystle.
