Wadsworth Debunks Dinosaur Myth

British Phonographic Industry chairman Tony Wadsworth will once again challenge the idea that record companies are dinosaurs at a special half-day conference in London July 14.

It will bring together a mixture of opinion leaders, fact-based analysis and case studies to explore the future of the record business.

Wadsworth’s defense of labels will be based on the findings of “Remake, Remodel: The Evolution Of The Record Label,” a report he co-wrote with Dr. Eamonn Forde, a freelance journalist and regular contributor to Music Week.

The report deals with the 25 years that Wadsworth, former chairman and chief exec at EMI, has spent in the business. It was unveiled at this year’s The Great Escape conference in Brighton May 12-14.

The half-day conference, one of a regular series run by Music Tank, is at the PRS for Music offices in Berners Street at 2 p.m.
