Van Der Vegt Says Bye To Ahoy

Jos van der Vegt will stand down as chief exec of Rotterdam Ahoy in the Netherlands and at the end of the month will hand the reins to Jolanda Jansen and Peter van der Veer.

Van der Veer has worked as the venue’s general manager and Jansen has been the general manager for consumer events.

They’re also both on the board of directors, along with Van der Vegt, Kitty van Dongen, and Gert-Jan van den Nieuwenhoff.

Jansen will be primarily responsible for the organisation of Ahoy’s own productions and Peter van der Veer will take care of the running of the venue.

“The Ahoy vision to provide a world-class multi-functional venue for exhibitions, events, concerts and conferences will remain,” Van der Vegt explained.

He won’t be lost to the 10,500-capacity arena and its six large event halls as Van der Vegt, who’s been at the venue for 40 years, is the main shareholder and will continue to play an important supervisory role.
