More Fans Go Snowbombing
More than 5,000 music and winter sports fans turned up to this year’s Snowbombing Festival in Austria April 4-9, after the event got permission to use an additional venue and increase its capacity by 1,000.
The festival is now able to create three extra stages at the Europe House, Mayrhofen, a property owned by the Austrian tourist board.
Snowbombing, which the UK’s Outgoing Ltd. organises at the popular ski resort, was last year voted Virtual Festivals’ best overseas festival. Outgoing Ltd. is a Manchester-based travel operator that specialises in catering for university and college groups.
Outgoing started the Volvo-sponsored event at Risoul, France, in 2000, and each year staged it either there or in Switzerland before settling in the Tyrol in 2005.
The acts on the bill included The Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, Pendulum, Skream & Benga, Tinie Tempah, Professor Green, Carl Craig, Example, Beardyman, Magnetic Man, and Aeroplane.
