Goats Want Mariah For Christmas

A UK farmer discovered that repeatedly playing Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” has increased his goats’ milk yield by nearly 20 percent.

The Daily Express reported that the farmer, who keeps 2,000 goats at St Helen’s Farm in Seaton Ross, near York, claims each one produces an extra pint when they’re listening to Mariah’s song.

Each goat regularly produces about 3 litres per day, but it increases to 3.5 litres when Mariah is playing.

“We are absolutely dumbfounded by the difference playing this song has made to the goats,” the delighted farmer told the UK paper. “Our milk maids started listening to the radio when they were milking them. They immediately noticed the animals were more relaxed and started producing more milk as a result.

“When one of the girls brought in a CD of Christmas classics they seemed to perk up when the Mariah Carey song came on. It’s really upbeat and they seem to love it.”

Further monitoring of the goats’ musical tastes revealed they tend to prefer Christmas carols, and other seasonal classics such as Wizzard’s “I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday” actually slowed down milk production.

“The Christmas Song” by The Chipmunks reportedly brought it to a halt.
