Putting Texts To Work

The next time there’s a spill or someone gets out of hand during a concert at the SMG-managed Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kan., people have a new way to alert venue staff – text message.

The arena recently teamed up with Stadium Systems ISS, to offer a text-based customer service system. When an issue arises, patrons simply text “Guest,” the issue and their location to 69050, and staff are dispatched to the site.

Intrust isn’t the only SMG venue to use texting technology for customer service. The Louisiana Superdome rolled out a similar service earlier this year.
