State Fair Arena Safe

Building inspectors have deemed State Fair Arena in Oklahoma City, Okla., safe after a chunk fell from its ceiling July 27 onto unoccupied seats but said more debris could fall.

Oklahoma State Fair officials said a 12-by-4-inch piece of the ceiling landed on upper seating as arena staff were preparing for a July 30 championship horse show.

Inspectors with Zahl-Ford Inc. determined there is no safety hazard to venue patrons and the seating area was closed off as a precaution.
