U2 Show Crasher Pleads Guilty

A man who made news for allegedly entering the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Jan. 2 posing as a U.S. Secret Service agent may have gotten some practice at a U2 show.

The District Attorney’s Office in Norfolk, Mass., said Frederick Nickerson pleaded guilty in November to charges of disorderly conduct, trespassing and impersonating a public official stemming from the September incident.

Nickerson reportedly displayed what looked like a Massachusetts State Police badge to get into the concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough Sept. 21. He didn’t have a ticket, according to authorities.

Stadium security called police when Nickerson refused to identify himself, and he was arrested.

Nickerson allegedly pretended to be a Secret Service agent to enter the Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, D.C., telling security guards he worked for the agency and needed to speak to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, according to the Washington Post.

A witness reportedly identified Nickerson to authorities as someone banned from the facility. He was arrested Jan. 5, the paper said.
