Marilyn Banson

There are moves in Western Australia to stop Marilyn Manson from playing Perth Oct. 5, the band’s first show in the state since 2003.

Half of the tickets for the show at Challenge Stadium are already sold, according to promoter Michael Coppel Presents.

Shadow minister for child protection Sue Ellery said Manson’s glorification of violence and self-harm sends the wrong message to fans. She advocates a boycott.

Gillian Gonzalez, vice president of the Australian Family Association, said the AFA would consider lobbying the Federal Government to deny the group visas.
