Obama’s Speech SRO
All of the free tickets to see Sen. Barack Obama accept the Democratic Party presidential nomination at the 76,125-capacity Invesco Field at Mile High in Denver August 28 were snatched up within 24 hours.
Sounds like it wasn’t a risky move to change the location from the 18,650-capacity Pepsi Center, where the Democratic National Convention is otherwise being held August 25-28.
More than half of the 60,000-plus tickets were reserved for residents of Colorado and those who couldn’t get a seat had their names put on a waiting list, according to convention officials.
Tickets on the secondary market won’t be accepted as Community Credential officials told the Denver Business Journal they will have a “very strong tracking program” and will immediately deactivate a ticket’s bar code if it’s seen up for sale.
