Dogg’s Day In Court
Nate Dogg could be put on a short leash following recent allegations he’d stalked and threatened his estranged wife.
The rapper pleaded not guilty in a Compton, Calif., courtroom July 16 to three felony charges – two criminal threats and one stalking count – as well as a misdemeanor charge of driving with a suspended license. His bail was set at $100,000 and he was ordered to stay away from his wife.
A District Attorney’s office spokeswoman told the Daily Breeze the stalking charge involved Nate Dogg chasing his wife’s car on the 405 freeway last month. The criminal threat charges stemmed from e-mails he had allegedly sent her. He was arrested by the Highway Patrol at the time and released the next day.
An attorney for the rapper, who is currently in a wheelchair, has requested Nate Dogg remain free to continue rehabilitation after suffering a stroke.
Nate Dogg is set to appear in court again in early August.
