50 Cent And Da House
After a suspicious fire burned 50 Cent’s $2.4 million house to the ground, a judge ruled the rapper may not dispose of the Long Island property and must put insurance proceeds in a trust account pending the outcome of a dispute with his ex-girlfriend over the home.
Shaniqua Tompkins claims that 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, bought the house for her and their 10-year-old son after promising her a house more than 10 years ago. Jackson said the house is his and in April tried to get Tompkins evicted – but a judge stayed her eviction after Tompkins sued for breach of contract in May.
The blaze, which a fire chief deemed suspicious, destroyed the Dix Hills, N.Y., home in the early hours of May 30th, sending Tompkins, Marquis and four others to the hospital after suffering smoke inhalation.
