Fantasma’s Peck Opens Agency
Steve Peck, formerly responsible agent for the artists of Fantasma Tours International, has taken his artist roster and opened his own agency, Diversified National Artists, effective immediately.
When Live Nation acquired a majority stake in the late Jon Stoll’s Fantasma Productions, it did not make offers to Peck and his staff, who worked independently of Fantasma but shared office space.
In addition to DNA Booking’s office in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., the company has offices in Los Angeles, Chicago and Las Vegas.
The L.A. office is headed up by the manager / agent combination of Rich Rees and Obi Steinman, who will concentrate on West Coast business. Mike Arturi, agent and one-time member of the Lovin’ Spoonful, will run the Chicago office and focus on the Midwest. Wayne Coy will handle casino business from the Las Vegas office, including in Laughlin and Reno, Nev.
Peck and his fellow Fantasma colleague Jeff Miller will handle the South and Northeast regions from their new Palm Beach Gardens office until Peck relocates to Nashville later this summer.
He doesn’t expect much to change.
"Most of my acts are soft-ticketed acts that play fairs, festivals and casinos. That’s what we are. I do things with Live Nation and AEG usually in package situations," Peck told Pollstar.
"We were prepared [to create a new company]. The only reason we were there was because of Jon Stoll in the first place. Still, it was a surprise to me when, our last day there, they came and told us they were closing the doors that day.
"But we’re all excited about doing this," Peck said of his new business. "We were always working together. It’s the same family; we’re just under one name now."
Among DNA’s artist roster are 10,000 Maniacs, Roger Hodgson of Supertramp, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Edgar Winter, Firehouse, Gallagher, Great White, Peter & Gordon, Poco, Rick Derringer, The Cowsills, The Plimsouls and The Raspberries.
