KC’s New Ticket Conspiracy

The populace of Kansas City, Mo., which already had a city council meeting to address the Hannah Montana ticket "conspiracy" after the Sprint Center sold out in minutes, is now questioning the protocol of other concerts, namely Billy Joel’s December 6th show and an Elton John show October 13th.

The outrage began when KMBC-TV reported a memo sent to Sprint Center staff offering an employee presale of up to eight tickets.

"I’m shocked. Something is awry, and we need to figure it out," city councilman Bill Skaggs told the TV station. There’s probably not that much to learn, however.

Ticket holds for venue staff, suite holders, the promoter, fan clubs and artist are nothing new.

Presale tickets for the December 6th Billy Joel show were reportedly capped at 10 percent of the roughly 15,000-seat capacity, which is a fairly typical allotment.
