Buzz About Brooks

Country Superstar Garth Brooks may or may not be releasing new material this fall and may or may not be coming out of retirement. But management isn’t talking.

A representative at Brooks’ management company, Bob Doyle & Associates, told Pollstar the singer would address any and all rumors at his press conference in Nashville August 18th.

Brooks is said to be releasing a retrospective this fall through his Pearl Records label that will be carried by Wal-Mart as well as other retailers, according to the Los Angeles Times. The singer is also reportedly joining forces with Big Machine Records, home of Taylor Swift, to promote any new singles he releases.

Which leads to the possibility of live performances, but it looked at press time that it would take the August 18th press conference to figure it all out.

It’s unclear whether the moves could signal the end of Brooks’ retirement and the beginning of a new tour. The singer has performed at various benefit concerts, including this year’s Live Earth, since leaving the biz in 2000.
