Popper Gets A Break

Blues Traveler’s John Popper can breathe a sigh of relief. A misdemeanor pot possession charge stemming from his March arrest in Washington state will be dropped if he stays clear of the bud and out of trouble for at least a year, according to Deputy Prosecutor Ted Sams.

Popper must also complete eight hours of classroom drug counseling but won’t be required to undergo random drug testing.

The singer was riding in his Mercedes SUV driven by Brian Gourgeois March 6th when it was pulled over after a state trooper said the vehicle was clocked at 111 mph on Interstate 90 near Ritzville.

A search of the vehicle turned up more than a dozen legally owned weapons and a small amount of marijuana.
