Sugababe Spends Night In Jail

Allegedly getting herself involved in a brawl at an England nightclub earned The Sugababes’ Amelle Berrabah a night in a cell and a couple of tabloid front pages.

The 23-year-old singer, who was released on bail in time to join her bandmates for an April 30th flight to Los Angeles, reportedly ripped out lumps of another girl’s hair extensions in what The Mirror described as "a vicious catfight."

Along with her sister Laila, 24, she reportedly clashed with a gang of women and started fighting with them.

According to The Sun, the newest member of the girl band, who joined in December 2005, was "dragged off her terrified victim by bouncers."

Police were called to Bar Med in Guildford to sort out the April 28th brawl at 1 a.m. They took Berrabah away and locked her up for the night.

She’s said to have persuaded officers to let her give a statement at 7 a.m. on April 29th so she could join bandmates Keisha Buchanan and Heidi Range to catch the flight to the U.S.

Speaking from Los Angeles the following day, Berrabah told The Mirror she was innocent and that she was "devastated" over the dancefloor brawl, pointing out that she felt "the other girls should be the ones punished."

Two weeks ago, it was announced the band is launching a Barbie-style collection of dolls that will be available in U.K. toy stores by the end of the month.
