Las Vegas casino mogul Steve Wynn will restore and keep the 1932 Picasso painting he accidentally damaged last month.
Wynn will reportedly pay $85,000 to a conservator to repair the small hole his elbow poked in “La Reve” while showing it to some high-profile guests.
Art collector Steven Cohen had agreed to buy “La Reve” for $139 million just 36 hours before the incident. “[My wife] said this is a sign from God that we ought to keep it,” Wynn explained. “And it is a favorite picture of mine.”
At one time, the entrepreneur considered naming the Wynn Las Vegas after the painting, and the casino hosts a show of the same name inside its Le Reve theatre.
