WMA Moving On Up

William Morris Agency will relocate to new digs after 50 years at its two-building headquarters a few blocks away in Beverly Hills, Calif.

WMA still owns its existing buildings and will likely become a landlord, in Beverly Hills no less. It will simultaneously become a lessee at the new digs.

The new, state-of-the-art facility will be environmentally friendly, according to WMA CEO Jim Wiatt.

“We have spent a great deal of time, energy and thought working with the developer and architect to ensure that this is one of the most environmentally friendly buildings in all of Southern California,” Wiatt said in a statement. “It was not only important for us to remain in Beverly Hills, but to make sure that we occupy a building that puts us all under one roof and is healthier for our employees and for our environment.”

The building will be constructed under guidelines developed by the U.S. Green Building Council based in Washington, D.C.

WMA will be the sole office tenant in the 201,000-square-foot building, being developed by New York-based George Comfort & Sons. The facility will also have retail and restaurant space and a multi-level underground garage.

There are also plans for a 180- to 200-seat screening room in the WMA office.
