Mariah Carey, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Black Eyed Peas, and Nickelback lead the pack with three nominations each for this year’s American Music Awards in Los Angeles.
Close behind with two nods each are Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kanye West, Jamie Foxx, T.I., Rascal Flatts, The Pussycat Dolls, Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.
Nelly Furtado joins Carey and Underwood in the top female artist category, with Nick Lachey, Sean Paul and West up for top male artist.
Nickelback, Pussycat Dolls, and Red Hot Chili Peppers are up for favorite band, duo or group.
Favorite new artist nods went to The Dolls, Chamillionaire, and Underwood.
AMA officials announced the favorite rap/hip-hop artist category was dropped this year because fewer than five artists met the minimum eligibility requirements.
The American Music Awards, broadcast on ABC, is set for November 21st at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium.
