Axl Rose was arrested in Stockholm, Sweden, after allegedly biting a security guard on the leg at a hotel June 27th.

Rose, who played the Stockholm Globe Arena as Guns N’ Roses‘ frontman the night before, was held in jail by prosecutors on suspicion of attacking and threatening the guard and causing damage to the Berns Hotel, where the alleged gnawing took place.

The band was reportedly partying at a well-known nightclub prior to the scuffle, and police spokeswoman Towe Hagg said Rose was too intoxicated to be questioned right away.

It was unclear what started the fight, but Swedish tabloids said a guard tried to intervene when Rose started arguing with a woman in the hotel lobby at about 8 a.m.

Rose was released later that evening after admitting to the charges and agreeing to pay a $5,500 fine, Hagg said. He was also ordered to pay $1,360 in damages to the security guard.

GNR was scheduled to play Oslo Spektrum in Norway June 28th.
