Hal Bynum Busted
County music songwriter Hal Bynum and his wife, Jan, were charged with growing pot inside their home and possessing hallucinogenic mushrooms following a May 30th warrant search by Tennessee police.
The couple turned themselves in at Metro Nashville Police Department the next day. They were booked and then released after posting $73,500 bail each. They face three felony drug charges and one count of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, according to The Tennessean.
Officers were acting on a tip when they conducted the search of the Bynums’ home, where they discovered 256 pot plants, 7.5 pounds of harvested pot, 14 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms, growing lamps and other paraphernalia used in the sophisticated operation.
A 1998 Cadillac and more than $5,000 in cash were seized in the search.
Police said they believe the couple had been growing marijuana for several years and were making several thousand dollars a month selling it.
